Brooklyn campaign
My concept for the downtown Brooklyn campaign is distinctive views of the brooklyn bridge, views i thought were interesting while i was taking pictures of the bridge, not the everyday picture of the bridge.

Olivo Barbieri @ Yancey Richardson
I decided to start my gallery day by checking out all the art galleries around the block. The one that impressed me the most was Olivo Barbieri’s site specific, which is being shown at the Yancey Richardson gallery. I was also impressed with the Ghost I’m chasing by Nan Goldin her portraits of the old couple were really touching, and the size of the photographs gave me a feeling of numbness, it was like I was feeling, the couple’s embracing their love.
The Rat & Bear exhibition by Peter Fischli and David Weiss, was really weird and unsatisfactory for my taste. I did not like it, I thought it was tasteless what’s the point of having of dressing up in a rat and bear suits and do funny movements and then having the suits like in an altar type place.
Olivo Barbieri’s work is really interesting, and I enjoyed it a lot, my favorite picture was the one of the Coliseum in Rome, such a historical place how beautiful it is and it still stand thousands of years later it shows how powerful mankind can be. It also shows how small we are in this world, it made ask myself how does this planet looks from the outside, from the universe, if there is life outside this planet how do they look at us? What do they see?
Barbieri took his photographs from a helicopter 300 to 500 feet above ground with a large format camera, I will love to see work like this done in New York City but in the less remote places because obviously in the middle of the city I believe it cant be done maybe in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx parts less known of the city which are as good as the landmarks in downtown. Mr. Barbieri’s concept is great I belive he should do this in different parts of the world and see how people react to it. And see how small we really are in a Universe full of things that we do not know about.

Carnaval 2006 "La Vega"
ok,so last weekend i went to Dominican Rep. for four days it was an emergency trip, but in spanish theres a saying that goes to bad times show a good face something like that you guys get me, so i decided to go to the carnaval in La Vega, every sunday during the month of February every town in Dominican Republic has a carnival, La Vega is the most famous one in the country, it is estimated that more than 100,000 thousand people go to this small town, Dancing, Partying,Parades, driking, and of course getting your whacked on your butt by the diablos is an awesome experience, a little a short explanation about the carnival in La vega.some of the the diablos are nice and will pose for the camara but there was one that came after me with the balloon to hit me..:)
The Carnival is the most traditional popular festivity of the Dominican Republic. It goes back to the colony, on the eve of lent, when people in Santo domingo disguised themselves to imitate the European Shrovetide.
If "people began to wear masks in Santo Domingo" as of the 16th century, the truth is that this colonial tradition increased with the heroic deeds of the republicans on February 27, 1844 and August 16, 1865, to such an extent that almost since then these are the official dates of celebration of our carnivals, regardless of the fact that they may fall or not on shrovetide. The first date at least normally falls on lent. It is known that the carnival is celebrated before lent, which is a time of penance and preparation for Christ´s passion. taken from this web site...http://www.dominicana.com.do/english/carnival.htm here are some pictures hope you guys like it

Survival of the Fittest
wow!, how many pigeons New York City has? where do all of them come from? so i was waiting for a friend around Bryant Park, when all of a sudden a lady threw bread on the concrete right next to me, i saw all these pigeons coming at me, and i saw how much they were fighting to get a piece of the bread, kinda of people live here in here New York City always trying to get a piece of the bread, before the bigger pigeon gets it. I believe is a great picture because it shows how much the pigeons are fighting to survive. I was lucky to zoom in this much without scaring them.
<------------This is where they came from.
